Set up for geese at my blind in the Rochester field at Chino Farms. Invited Brett Coakley to go along. We met at 7:30 when it was 18 degrees. Recent thaw and refreeze allowed us to still put in silhouette decoys without too much trouble. Ready by 815 or so, Brett got a single around 845, I got two out of a nice toll of 20 about 945 and Brett missed and then had gun jam. At 1045 or so Brett got his second bird out of a flock of 4. Lots of birds came from the south, but most did not come close to us. Saw a few ducks, none gave us a look. Used golf cart, but field was frozen enough to have used truck. I have been flagging more from the blind this year and keep flagging even as the birds approach. It seems to be working so far.
