Today we went to the Farmer’s Market and had pastries for breakfast there.
There were lots of interesting foods for sale. Several vendors had fresh eggs and others offered various meats for sale. Seasonal and sometimes unique vegetables were available.
We browsed the artisans’ booths and learned a lot about making knives. Pete and I bought a print for our newly renovated room upstairs. We checked out the sale at REI and then went back to the house to change clothes and pack up lunch for our picnic and hike at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu.
At Ghost Ranch, we ate our lunch in the picnic area and saw a bluebird and a few other song birds. Then we hiked to Chimney Rock. Jake and Sylvan hiked ahead but Pete and I finally made it despite being affected by our lack of conditioning and our acclimation to sea level rather than 6,500 feet. It was challenging but gave us wonderful views.
After we drove home, we had a simple dinner and then watched the movie, City Slickers, that had been partially filmed at Ghost Ranch.
