With a windy weather forecast, we took an early walk along the same route as the previous evening. We both had some computer work to do that morning and after lunch we took the Jeep for a drive over the dam and past Carnifax to an area where the Gauley River rafters take out and there is a beautiful waterfall in the woods. The road to the waterfall area was narrow and we had some exciting experiences meeting rafting buses, other cars and trucks that were all moving fast toward us in our lane. When we got back to a main road, a motorcycle passed vehicles coming toward us and we had to hit the shoulder to avoid a collision.

After surprising 2 paddlers who were changing clothes in the woods at the waterfall, we started back toward Mt. Lookout. We stopped to take a walk along the dike at Battle Run at the Summersville Lake.
