Pete had some stomach issues at night and woke Gayle several times, but felt fair in the morning. Other members of the party had the same issue. We went off to visit the town of Karatu, where members of all 120 tribes of Tanzania live peacefully. Our group took a very, very muddy walking tour near and through town, down several alleys and along banana plantations. We saw some homes, livestock pens, etc. and a 100+ year old lady that still has vegetable gardens (nice garden). We went through a large market with many interesting wares. Unfortunately we were plagued by street vendors that would not take “no” for an answer and basically had to flee the market area.
We had lunch cooked in a local tradition of pots over fires and were served a wonderful meal in handmade pots. On to an interesting talk by Daniel on the culture of his tribe. To Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge for a quick rest, dinner and bed.
